Fish and chips recipe
This is classic British fish and chips recipe popular all over the world
Preparation time - 20 to 25 minutes
Rest time - 30 to 35 minutes
Cooking time - 35 to 40 minutes
Total time - 85 to 100 minutes
Servings - 4 to 59
Ingredients (Fish)
- 8 tsp all purpose flour
- 8 tsp cornstarch
- 1tsp baking powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 1/2 pinch black pepper or to taste
- 1/3 dark bear ( cold)
- 1/3 , Cup sparkling water ( cold)
- 199 gram fish(white and thick)
Ingredients for chips
- 910 gram potatoes( peeled)
Method
- Keep two tsp of flour for later use.
- Add remaining flour, cornstarch, baking powder white pepper and salt in a large bowl. Mix it well.
- Now add beer and sparkling water in mixture and whisk it with fork or whisker until you have a thick smooth better
- Give a rest to the better for one hour in refrigerator.
- Meanwhile cut the potatoes into slices for chips.
- Wash the chips slices in cold water.
- Place the washed chips slices in a pan of cold water and bring to a gentle boil for 4 to five minutes on low medium heat.
- Drane the extra water and dry it with paper towel.
- Keep in the refrigerator covered with paper towel until needed.
- Meanwhile season the fish with sea salt .
- Put remaining flour in a bowl and toss the fish fillet in the flour and shake off excess flour.
- Now dip the fish fillet in the better.
- Heat the oil on 350 f. Fry a better coated fish fillet for 7 to 8 minutes or until turning the fish fillet into golden brown. Remove the cooked fish fillet on paper towel.
- Now fry the chips until it's crisp or golden brown. Sprinkle chaat masala on chips and serve it hot.
