A vegetable or a meat cutlet on a bun is called a burger. Hamburger is ethnic food of Germany. But after second World war burger globalized as a fast food. Now it is popular as a Patty on a bun around the world but the recipe s can vary  country to country. People make him according to his/her own taste. We are sharing a CHEESEBURGER WITH CAPSICUM SALSA recipe with you.

Preparation time: 26 minutes + 1 hour standing

Ingredients 

  • 1 kg beef mince
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped 
  • Two tablespoons parsley (chopped )
  • 1 teaspoon dry oregano seasoning 
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  •  70 g  Cheddar cheese

  • 6 bread rolls

CAPSICUM SALSA

  •  2 red capsicums
  • 1 red tomato, finely chopped

  • 1 small red onion ( chopped)
  •  1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 2 teaspoons red wine vinegar

Method 

1 Mix together the mince, onion, herbs and tomato paste with your hands. Divide into six portions and shape into patties. Cut the cheese into small six squares. Make a cavity in the top of each patty with your thumb. Place a piece of cheese in the cavity and smooth the mince over to enclose the cheese completely.

  • 2 To make the salsa, quarter the capsicums, remove the seeds and membranes and cook on a hot, lightly oiled barbecue grill, skin-side-down, until the skin blackens and blisters. Place in a plastic bag and leave to cool. Peel away the skin and dice the flesh. Combine with the tomato, onion, olive oil and vinegar and leave for at least 1 hour to let the flavours develop. Serve at room temperature.

  • 3 Cook the patties on a hot, lightly oiled barbecue grill or flat plate for4-5 minutes each side, turning once. Serve in rolls with salad leaves and the capsicum salsa.

STORAGE: The salsa will keep for a day in the fridge. The burgers can be kept in the fridge for 4 hours before cooking.
