German cake
German cake is one of the most famous chocolate cake in the world. It tastes like a mild chocolate cake filled with coconut pecan frosting. But this cake is known as German kuchen in Germany. Kuchen means a sweet or a cake that is often eaten with coffee. In 1957 a homemaker from Dallas Texas Mrs. George clay created this recipe. Later in 1853 American baker Samuel German introduced German cake for the bakers chocolate company.

Ingredients for cake
Flour - 270 gram
Baker's German sweet chocolate - 120 g ( finely chopped)
Baking powder - 2 g
Baking soda - 3 g
Salt - 2 g
Butter milk - one cup
Butter - 300 g ( room temperature)
Eggs - 5
Sugar - 400 g powdered
Coco powder - 1 TSP
Hot coffee water - one cup
Steps for chocolate cake
Pre heat the oven on 180 degree .
Stain the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda in stainer into big bowl.
Now in a separate bowl beat the butter till smooth.
Add powder sugar in butter and beat again to make smooth and fluffy.
Whisk eggs in separate bowl properly.
Next add flour mixture in butter bowl in three times.In between add butter milk.Side by beat the mixture.
Now add eggs in flour mixture and beat properly.
In a separate glass bowl melt chocolate pieces by shimmering it over hot water. After that mix coffee hot water and vanilla extract. Mix well in flour mixture and beat again. Add salt in needed.
Lightly grease the three cake pan and transfer the cake mixture in them evenly .Bake it for 35 to 40 minutes or until baked properly. Check with a toothpick.
Ingredients for coconut pecan frosting
Coconut powder or flakes - 150 g
Pecan - 1 Cup ( roasted)
Sugar - 360 ml
Eggs - 3 large
Evaporated milk - 360 ml (unsweetened condensed milk)
Vanilla extract - 2 ml
Unsalted butter - 171 g
Salt - 1 g

Steps for pecan frosting
Place a saucepan on a burner on medium heat.
Add milk, sugar , butter, salt,egg yolks, in it. Cook for five minutes or until the mixture is thicker. Stir it constantly while cooking.
Remove the pan from heat. Add pecan, vanilla extract and coconut powder in pan. Mix properly and let them cool.
Divide it into three equal portions.
Take a cake and cover with frosting then place second cake and cover with frosting. Repeat the same with third cake.keep the slides bare cover with your own choice. ( Cream or frosting)
Now your three story German cake is ready.
Refrigerate it and use for a week.
