                 Peri peri chicken

Peri peri chicken is spicy chicken mernatied with peri peri sauce. We are sharing a unique recipe of peri peri sauce which enhances  the chicken flavor.

Preparation time: 10 minutes+ Meritnation (overnight) or two hours in refrigerator 

Servings - 4 to five 

Ingredients for piri piri sauce 

Onion - one medium

Red bell pepper - one

Salt - 2 tbsp

Tomato paste 1 tbsp 

Lemon zest - 1 tbsp

Olive oil -   1/4 cup

White vinegar - 3/4 cup

Garlic powder - 2 tbsp

Oregano - 2 tbsp

Kashmir red chili powder - 1 tbsp

Paprika - 1.5  tbsp

Lemon juice - 3 tbsp

Coriander leaves - half cup

Ingredients for chicken 

Chicken left - 1 kg

Salt 3/4 TSP

Chilli 3/4 TSP

Peri peri sauce - 1.5 cup

Method

Peri peri chicken
 

Cut onion, bell pepper into big pieces and 

add all dry ingredients like salt, lemon zest, garlic powder, chilli powder, peprika, coriander leaves, oregano, and tomato paste in a mixer jar to make paste .

Heat the pan add olive oil and cook this paste for five minutes. Add vinegar and cook for 1 more minute. 

Remove the pan add let it cool down properly. Add lemon juice and mix it well. Peri peri sauce is ready.

Chicken Meritnation

Make a slanting cut into chicken pieces. Rub salt and red chili powder.

Take a shallow non metalic dish. Place chicken pieces in the dish and pour peri peri souce on it. Rub this piri piri sauce both sides of the chicken.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours of if you needs good results Meritnate overnight.

Peri peri chicken in pan

Heat the pan with olive oil . Place chicken pieces in this. Flip it after every 1 minutes. Cook for five minutes or till it cooked.

Peri peri chicken in oven

Preheat the oven on 180 degree temperature.

Grease the oil on grill flat plate. Place chicken on it and cook for two minutes. Flip the chicken legs and cook for more three minutes . Grease the chicken with oil or peri peri sauce once. Serve hot.

Piri piri chicken serve with side dishes

Peri chicken can be eat alone or

Can be serve with plane salty rice.

Can be served with pasta.

Can be served with green salad etc.

NOTE:  Piri-piri is also excellent for barbecuing prawns. Seed the chillies for a milder tasting dish.
